Words About lizzi

  • “What can be said about Lizzi that can’t be said about an NBA Rookie of the Year that takes her team to the playoffs?!

Lizzi’s poise and competence allows her to punch above her weight, such as being a lead designer for a value stream while she was still a ‘Junior’.”

    — Jason James, Senior UX Designer at Santander Bank

  • “Her biggest strength is her ability to deal with conflicting priorities in high-pressure situations. Her work is always top-notch, and you can always count on Lizzi for competitive analysis, interactive user experiences, and design. Plus, she is self-motivated and a great team player.

What really impressed me is her ability to manager and work with cross-functional teams, and changing work environments, and is one of the key reasons we were able to move smoothly through product development…”

    — Mohammed Omer, Product Owner at Santander Bank

  • “Lizzi is self-motivated and always looking for new things to learn and ways to improve. Lizzi’s passionate about solving problems for people. She’s a humble and generous contributor, and her positive attitude and enthusiasm made her a valued team member.

Lizzi strove for better customer and team outcomes by finding better ways to work together.

my journey

From Government to UX: Navigating Highs and Lows

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic I asked myself, “If I were to die today, would I be happy?” My answer was no. I realized that my government work lacked creative agency and a broader scope of impact. This led me to delve into the tech world where I discovered UX design.

start of my youtube channel

I discovered a gap on YouTube: no real-time journeys of self-taught designers. Seeing an opportunity to fill that void, I launched my own channel to share my story and help others on their design journey.

COVID “death check”

I quit my job and taught myself ux design

I couldn't afford a bootcamp, so I forged my own path. I created a curriculum from free resources and cultivated a network of mentors. To gain hands-on experience and a portfolio project, I volunteered to redesign a senator’s website.

my community expansion to discord

As my youtube channel grew to 7K+ subscribers, I saw it as an opportunity to build an interactive design learning community on Discord. It currently hosts 2K+ early-career designers.

building cool PARTNERSHIPs

ADPList.org reached out to me to run their TikTok content strategy and video creation. In just 3 months, my videos gained 300K+ views, increasing the channel's following from 700 to over 4K+ members.

leading ux design on authentication at santander

In just 9 months, with support from my online community and mentors, I secured a role at Santander Bank. As a junior, I led UX design for the Authentication team, leveraging expertise I gained in government.

LEVELING UP WITH freelance projects

While at Santander Bank, I was curious about UX practices in different tech domains. I explored this avenue through freelance work, broadening my breadth of work to crypto virtual wallets, AI search engines, and bakeries.

charting the road ahead

In my next endeavors, I aim to grow and leverage my UX/UI design experience to continue building products/services that enhance people’s everyday lives. Reach out to collaborate!
